Is the app fully offline?
Yes for core use. All 48 passages (with pinyin, vernacular, and English), stories, and indexes are bundled. After install, browsing, reading, recite (system TTS), study, Hunt, widgets, and local daily notifications work without network. Optional exceptions: StoreKit tipping (Apple), and sharing to another app you choose.
How is this different from a simple San Zi Jing reader?
iThree is a studio: character pinyin + vernacular + English, karaoke-style recite, study modes (recitation / fill-blank / self-check / quiz / Hunt), Daily Line, stories & classic indexes, share cards, widgets, optional Live Activity, Siri & Shortcuts — not a static ebook.
How much content is included?
48 passages across six chapters, with pinyin, vernacular and English; 21 stories; 16 classic book indexes; 21 dynasties; and 32 famous lines.
What does “recite” / “诵读” mean here?
Product term for read-aloud with line-level highlighting. In Settings you can configure what is spoken (title / author / body × original / vernacular / English) independently from what you see.
What study modes are available?
Recitation, fill-blank, self-check, quiz, plus Hunt (寻句 / 一字寻句). Mastery has levels. You can practice one passage or a batch from favorites / line lists (句单).
What is Daily Line?
A daily recommendation drawn from a contextual pool (solar terms / lunar festivals / seasons). Optional local reminders. Widgets can show today’s line too.
Why isn’t there a separate Authors section?
San Zi Jing is treated as a single classic corpus here; Browse focuses on chapters, tags, stories, books, and dynasties. Legacy author deep links map to chapter.
What does iCloud Sync cover?
Optional sync for passage favorites, story favorites, line lists, reading history, study progress, and streaks via your private iCloud KVS.
