No account required. 957 surnames (504 traditional + 453 extended, including compound names) ship on your device with origins, hall names, migration notes, notable figures, distribution charts, and optional English glosses. Browse by pinyin, strokes, wuxing, single/compound, source, population rank, or the classic four-character text; recite the original with line highlighting; train in the Study Hall; try naming inspiration (fully local). Start with Daily Surname and My Surname. Export share cards, add widgets, optional Reading Live Activity, Siri & Shortcuts, and optional iCloud. No ads. No tracking. Data Not Collected.

Getting Started (step by step)

1. First launch

1. Install from the App Store and open iBaiJia.
2. Complete the 6-page welcome guide (brand → browse → detail → recite → study → privacy).
3. Replay anytime: Settings → Help → Feature Guide (ibaijia://feature-guide).
4. In-app Usage / Widget / Shortcuts guides live under Settings → Help.

2. Daily Surname on Home

1. Open the Home tab.
2. The Daily Surname hero shows today’s surname; tap to open detail.
3. Set My Surname for a personalized shortcut and widget.
4. Optional: turn on Daily Surname notifications in Settings (local scheduling only).
5. Track your streak in Check-in detail; continue where you left off.

3. Browse & search

1. Open Browse (Categories tab).
2. Explore eight dimensions: pinyin, strokes, wuxing, single/compound, traditional vs extended, surname source, population rank, and the full Hundred Family Surnames text.
3. Cards open groups; previews open a surname. The app remembers your last dimension and layout.
4. Use Search for surname, pinyin, initial, or notable figure — fully offline.
5. Star surnames into Favorites; build Surname lists and Notes. Favorites tab is on by default (can be hidden in Settings).

4. Detail, reading & share cards

1. On detail: origin, hall names, migration, notable figures, distribution, English gloss.
2. Toggle immersive reading; long-press body text to copy, read aloud, or use system Translation (iOS 17.4+).
3. Open Stroke tracing for surname characters; export Share Card styles to Photos (add-only) or system share.
4. Mark My Surname, add notes, or favorite from detail actions.

5. Recitation (四言诵读)

1. Open Recite from Home, Browse, or ibaijia://recite.
2. Four-column layout with current-line highlight and cinnabar marks; tap a line to start there.
3. Bottom playback island supports single-line loop; optional background audio + Live Activity.
4. Configure voice and rate in Settings → Reading.

6. Study Hall & naming

1. Open Study from Home / ibaijia://study / Shortcuts.
2. Modes: Recognition quiz, Pinyin match, Flashcards, Four-character chain, Source quiz (can include extended surnames).
3. High scores stay on device. Open Naming inspiration for fully local name ideas — nothing is uploaded.

7. Statistics & widgets

1. Statistics tab: Swift Charts for population, strokes, wuxing, initials, and provincial distribution.
2. Long-press Home Screen → Edit Widgets → add Daily Surname / My Surname / Trivia / Study Progress.
3. Control Center controls (iOS 18+): daily, random, recite, search, my surname, study, favorites, stats.
4. Ask Siri for today’s surname, random, recite, favorites, study, or search.

8. Privacy & sync

1. Surname library, stroke data, reading, recite (system TTS), study, widgets, and local notifications work fully offline after install.
2. Optional iCloud Sync mirrors favorites, lists, notes, progress, and streaks through your private iCloud.
3. Optional text export / import in Settings for backup — still on your devices only.
4. Tip the developer (optional StoreKit) never unlocks paywalled content and never creates an account.

5. 四言诵读
