Do I need an account?
No. iPhoto requires no registration and no login. All features work right after install.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Capture, beauty, filters, and export run entirely on your device. Face landmarks from Vision stay on-device. iPhoto does not upload your photos for analysis.
What does “non-destructive” mean?
For imported projects, the original image file is kept. Your adjustments live in an edit state and are rendered when you preview or export. You can undo, redo, or start over without destroying the original.
Why do Capture shots with beauty look already applied in the editor?
When Beauty or a filter is on at shutter time, iPhoto bakes the look once into the saved original and keeps the edit state neutral — so the editor will not apply the same beauty twice.
Can I control each face separately?
Yes. In the editor Beauty panel, choose All or a specific Face N. When multiple faces are detected, each can keep its own parameters. Matching across sessions uses face box overlap (IoU).
Which beauty tools are available?
Smooth, Whiten, Slim Face, Eyes, Teeth, Blush, and Lipstick (with color picks), plus presets such as Natural, Clear, Glow, Studio, and Sharp. Capture also has a master Amount slider.
How do I strip location and EXIF before sharing?
Open the editor → Privacy tool → enable Strip Metadata, then export. This removes GPS, device, and related EXIF fields from the exported file.
What widgets are included?
Home Screen and Lock Screen families for Quick Capture, Recent Projects, Library Stats, and Daily Tip. Add them from the iOS widget gallery; see Settings → Widget Guide.
Does iCloud sync my photos?
No. Optional iCloud sync covers preferences only (language, theme, export options, capture beauty settings, and similar). Photo files stay on each device.
Capture is black / unavailable
Camera requires a real device and Camera permission. Check Settings → Capture Tab is enabled, and grant Camera access in iOS Settings → Privacy → Camera.
Is iPhoto affiliated with Apple?
No. iPhoto is an independent product by iHTCTeam contributors. It is not affiliated with Apple Inc.
How do I tip the developer?
Open Settings, scroll to Tip Developer, and complete the optional consumable purchase. Tipping never unlocks features — the app stays fully usable for free.
Which languages are supported?
English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese via in-app language settings. Home Screen name and permission dialogs follow the system language.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 17.0+.
