Why can’t I find nearby devices?
Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and that you have granted local network access permission. You can check this in your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
What file types are supported?
iConnect supports all file types, including:
- Photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC, GIF, WebP, etc.)
- Videos (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, etc.)
- Documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, Pages, Numbers, etc.)
- PDFs
- Audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, etc.)
- Archives (ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZIP)
- Any other file type
Single file size limit is 2 GB. You can send up to 20 files per batch.
Does the app use the internet or cloud services?
No. All transfers happen directly between devices over your local Wi-Fi network using Apple MultipeerConnectivity. No data is sent to any server or cloud service.
Do I need to create an account?
No. iConnect works without any account, registration or sign-up.
What is the “Trust Device” feature?
When receiving files, you can mark a device as trusted. Next time that device sends you files, they will be accepted automatically without manual confirmation. You can manage your trusted devices list in Settings at any time.
Can I use iConnect between iPhone and Mac?
Yes. iConnect supports any combination of iPhone, iPad and Mac devices, as long as they are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Files are transferred directly between your devices over your local network. No data is collected, stored externally, or transmitted to any server. There is no analytics or tracking in the app.
How do I change the app language?
Go to Settings within the app and select your preferred language. iConnect supports English and Simplified Chinese, and the change takes effect immediately.
The transfer failed. What should I do?
- Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Keep the app in the foreground on both devices during transfer. iConnect does not support background transfers on iOS.
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the devices.
- If the problem persists, restart the app on both devices.
How do I save received photos to my photo library?
Go to Settings and enable “Save Images to Photos.” Received images will be automatically saved to your photo library. You can also save manually from the History tab.
