How do I add a widget to my home screen?
Long-press on your home screen, tap the + button in the top-left corner, search for “iCalendar”, and choose the widget size you prefer. iCalendar offers 20 different home-screen widgets and 5 lock-screen widgets.
What date range does iCalendar cover?
iCalendar covers the full range from 1891 to 2100, including all public and lunar calendar conversions, solar terms, and festival calculations.
How do I use the Countdown Day feature?
Go to the Countdown tab, tap + to create a new event. You can set the event name, target date, repeat rules, and notification reminders. Countdown supports 9 display modes including days, weeks, months, years, hours, minutes, and seconds.
Does iCalendar sync across devices?
Yes — with two independent toggles:
- Countdown events — Countdown → Settings (gear) → Sync countdown with iCloud (iCloud Key-Value Storage).
- App settings — About → Sync app settings with iCloud (theme, layout, preferences — separate from countdown data).
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all devices.
Does the app require an internet connection?
No. All features — calendar, lunar conversion, solar terms, almanac, and countdown — work completely offline. Optional iCloud sync (countdown and/or app settings, separate toggles) uses the network.
How do I customize the widget appearance?
iCalendar offers 12 styled widget variations plus core widgets. You can choose different widget themes when adding them to your home screen. Month and week widgets support single-tap and double-tap interaction modes.
What is the almanac (黄历) feature?
The almanac shows traditional Chinese auspicious and inauspicious activities for each day, helping you choose the right day for important events according to Chinese custom.
How do I change the app icon?
Go to About → App Icon. iCalendar offers 8 icons total — the default plus 7 alternates.
What languages does iCalendar support?
Follow System, Simplified Chinese (简体中文), or Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) — choose under About → Language. There is no separate English UI; when your iPhone is set to English or another non-Chinese language, the app displays Simplified Chinese. Widgets read the same language from App Group storage.
Can I back up or migrate countdown events?
Yes. Countdown → Settings (gear) → Backup & migration lets you export JSON (share or save) and import JSON (adds events and categories that do not already exist locally — existing data is not overwritten).
What are the app icon badge modes?
Countdown → Settings → Notification badge offers five modes: off, top event countdown, today’s event count, pinned-only countdown, or a specific event. iOS notification permission is required for badges to appear.
