Is the app fully offline?
Yes for core use. The full Bible — 66 books and ~31,021 verses — is bundled. After install, browsing, parallel reading, plans, TTS, widgets, and local daily notifications work without network. Optional exceptions: StoreKit tipping (Apple), and sharing to another app you choose.
How is this different from a simple Bible reader?
iBible is a bilingual devotion workstation: Today’s Verse that stays consistent across App / widget / notification, Chinese–English parallel reading, curated topics / famous verses / plans, share cards, background TTS, widgets, optional Live Activity, and Siri — no account, no ads, no social feed.
What is Today’s Verse?
A daily verse chosen with weekday + liturgical season context (including a dynamic Easter window). The same verse appears in the App, widgets, optional local notifications, and deep links. The widget can refresh to another verse for today.
Can I read Chinese and English together?
Yes. Choose a primary and parallel version, toggle bilingual mode, and swap which side is primary. UI language (EN / 简 / 繁) is independent from Scripture language.
What reading plans are available?
Six plans: First Steps (7), Gospel of John (21), Proverbs (31), Psalms (31), New Testament 90 days, and Bible in a Year (365).
How do I add widgets?
Long-press Home Screen → Edit → Add Widget → search iBible. Families include Today’s Verse, Famous Verses, Favorites, Plan Progress, and Continue Reading (with Lock Screen sizes where available).
Why doesn’t Live Activity appear?
Enable it in Settings → Reading & speech. It must be started while the app is in the foreground on a supported iPhone; leaving the reading session ends it. Behavior differs on Mac.
What does iCloud Sync cover?
Optional sync for favorites and verse lists via your private iCloud key-value store. The Bible text itself is already on device and is not downloaded from our servers.
Do you collect my data?
